Shoot for the Moon... And keep your shoes on.

So let’s see and take it step by step:
1.     So what changes did you make in the last year?

A lot. Huge changes. I don’t even know where to begin. The year of 2010 was a year of changes and a year of big life lessons. A year of challenges, but at the meantime a year of lots of fun. A year that brought similar minded people together, when at the same time “old acquaintances” (that no longer served ones) separated.

In the beginning of the year I was introduced (or found my way) to an ancient teaching, that is to believe or not (all up to themselves to believe or not), whatever, it is still There as it is. Or Here, as it is. It is not a religion or cult of any sort, it just explains the human behavior and essence in a humorous, yet so true, way. At that point I started to open my eyes for the world in yet a deeper way, and it was like a snowball effect, that never stopped, and which never will stop. It will just continue and keep on rolling to create evolution. Though, evolution comes naturally, whether one acknowledges it or not. But the thing is that once you have opened your eyes, you will never want to shut them. And when starting to understand things, you want more. More knowledge, more real life experience. To learn the lessons of life. And to evolve as a soul and as a human being.

In the beginning of the summer people, who are the kindred spirits as I am, found their ways to me, and I found my way to them. It was as if the universe introduced the “right people to each other at the right time”. And the people who already were in my life – we connected even more deeply.

I’ve noticed that when “using” the law of attraction, it takes about three months to manifest. Or at least I have had that experience several times. In August I started to update the worker’s manual at my old workplace, just as a matter of “at some point in the future, I will give this manual to my successor”. A couple of months thereafter I found this call for internship on the internet, and I applied for it. It didn’t take long before I was contacted to take part in an interview, and shortly after that I got to know that I got the place. Which again led to giving my notice at job (after working for 3 years) and to finishing my rental contract after 8 years. Huge life changes ahead, id est. It also meant that I was to move abroad, which also created loads of things that needed to be done for the move and due to the move. And I LOVED it! I have always thought that change is GOOD. Change is ALWAYS good! If life stands still for too long, I just need to make a change, because I simply can’t stand standstill. It feels like nothing is moving or evolving. I want experience, I want new things to trigger my soul and my curiosity. Of course, there are the times in life when one simply needs the “standstill” for different reasons. I have had my share of standstill for far too long, and now the time has come for me to take a leap. And once more I want to point out that it feels GREAT. Because those huge life changes, which came all at once, have given me so much that I can’t even yet describe all the affects of the changes.

The thing to remember is that whatever you say or do is that it will always carry the butterfly effect along with it. Just take responsibility and stand for your actions and behind your words. At the same time, be creative, have fun and enjoy your life. Because you are the only one who creates your own life. It most seldom is the circumstances that drive your actions, but your perception of the circumstances.

These are basic principles that everyone should know. But many people want to shut their eyes for the real world and live in an illusion, instead of taking responsibility of their own choices that they make in their own lives, i.e. “putting the blame on somebody else when something doesn’t go according to their own expectations”. Expectation is the worst enemy a person can have, because expectation gives growth to living in an illusion instead of living in the ‘Now’. And people get disappointed when their expectations aren’t met. And then they want to blame others for not doing things according to their expectations.

“Don't live down to expectations.  Go out there and do something remarkable.”
-         Wendy Wasserstein -

Everything is chosen. And as long as you think that you have to live in a certain way just because you THINK that people EXPECT you to live in a certain way, you won’t be able to live from within yourself and in the ‘Now’. You are living from outside; thinking too much of what people think and say. Be honest to yourself (of how you feel ~be CONSCIOUS of how you feel), to get to know who You are. Do not try to be somebody you THINK that others want you to be. Because as long as you live according to others’ expectations you won’t find your true self and you won’t be able to be truly happy.

“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.“

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. “
 - Ralph Waldo Emerson -

Pheeww, long story from changes.

2.     What have you learned?
A lot! Very much! Putting a long story short, or at least shorter, I have come closer to being my true self. I have learned the distinction of others’ feelings and my own, and not reacting when somebody else reacts. Or at least I have become much better at it – of staying neutral in turbulent situations. Trying to stay neutral. In some cases it is easier than in others, depending on the person and the issue. I’ve come to understand projection, polarization and essence. I’ve come to understand the chief features vs. essence. Or at least closer to understanding.
“The important thing is not to stop questioning.”
- Albert Einstein –
All right, so it is starting to be late, so I will have to continue my spiritual monologue some other time. I lost the connection and I’m feeling very tired now. I have only one thing that I still want to share with you and that is:
“You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.
You're on your own.
And you know what you know.
You are the guy who'll decide where to go.”
- Dr. Seuss -

PS. I have no idea who Dr. Seuss is. But he most certainly is a clever guy and quite funny as well. ;)
