… With my new bag!!! ;)
I had to go back to the flat because my landlady called me 'cause I had sent her a message about the internet connection problems I had experienced on Friday and Saturday. It turned out that it was the operator who had had some problems. The landlady had called the company, and I had to go home to take off the modem and put it back again, and to see if it internet was working again. She told me that she was going to call me at 1 o'clock to see if the internet was working again. Fortunately we got the problem solved. One of the habitants in this house told me that he also had experienced internet connection problems. Meanwhile waiting for the landlady to call me back, I cleaned up, did some laundry and food.
At 5 o’clock I had scheduled an appointment with a Finnish lawyer, who practices in New York, and who had taken part in the Liberty Ball in Brussels on Friday. I got to know that he was supposed to be here in Brussels this weekend via Facebook, when I had asked about if some people who have been living in Brussels could tell me what is worth experiencing here in the spare time. He told me that he has been living here three times for different lengths of periods and gave me good advice on activities and places to go to. We met at Fat Boy’s on Place du Luxembourg. It was a nice American pub with British influence. Or maybe the only thing that made the atmosphere British was the football game on screen, that was hosted in British English, and all the Britons watching the game... Who knows?! ;) I liked it! I told him about the idea of writing my thesis here, and he might offer me an assignment of writing something in the field of his practise. Yay! We'll see.
When I got home, one of the Danes greeted me, and told me that they were throwing a welcome party downstairs in the common kitchen (for those who live in the rooms, not flats, in this house). It was nice to see everybody who live here, and to get to know the people. They had made some chicken with rice and salad, and for desert some icecream with hot chocolate sauce and warmed up berries. Yummy! So here live, besides me, at the moment 2 Swedish girls, 1 Swedish guy, 2 Danish girls and 3 Danish guys. The good thing is that I might get Danish as a "free" language here, since often when we talk with eachother, they talk in Danish and I reply in Swedish, and the other way around. :)
